Peter Laing is an experienced senior executive with a successful background in secondary education, vocational education and higher education where the rubber hits the road – in business model planning and implementation to achieve desirable outcomes.  Peter successfully negotiated contracts with the University of Canberra and Federation University of Australia to position TAFE in Queensland to commence delivery of Higher Education Applied Learning degrees, resulting in growth of more than 1000 students.

Peter has a proven successful history in leading and managing educational quality assurance and compliance through the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority, Australian Skills Quality Authority and Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency.  He has authored TAFE Queensland educational roadmaps and underpinning frameworks with multi-layered workforce capability and student experience strategies.

Peter holds an Advanced Diploma of Management, Diploma of Project Management, Diploma of Teaching, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and Advanced Certificates in Patisseries and Hospitality Management.  He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Queensland Public Service Commission Executive Management Program.
